About
Independent practice, with years of Alaska law behind it.
After building my career with Thompson Law Group in Anchorage and in senior public-service roles, I opened the Law Offices of Taylor Thompson to keep representation direct, personal, and hands-on.

Taylor Rose Thompson, Esq.
Law Offices of Taylor Thompson
I represent clients across Alaska in business, real estate, family, civil, estate, and personal injury matters. The common thread in every file is the same: thorough preparation, clear communication, and steady advocacy when the stakes warrant it.
I practiced with Thompson Law Group in Anchorage before opening this office — experience in complex civil work and client relationships I carry into my own practice. More recently I served as Head Attorney for the North Slope Borough Department of Law, advising elected officials and agencies on contracts, litigation, open meetings, public records, and high-stakes municipal issues. Earlier in my career I worked in Washington, D.C., for U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski, as her press secretary — a grounding in how policy, messaging, and constituent work intersect in real time.
This practice is intentionally small: you work with the attorney of record from intake through resolution. I am direct about strengths, weaknesses, and likely outcomes; I do not run up fees; and I do not take matters where I can’t add real value. When I commit to a case, I prepare like it’s the only one on my desk.

How this practice works
A short list of non-negotiables.
These principles define how matters are scoped and resolved. They are not aspirational — they are the operating standard.
Direct attorney attention
Every matter is handled by the attorney of record. There are no associates and no files passed down. You retain me; you work with me.
Preparation first
Strategy is shaped by what the record actually supports. I do not file, argue, or negotiate without first knowing the file cold.
Candor over comfort
Clients receive honest assessments of strengths, weaknesses, and likely outcomes — including when the honest answer is not the one they hoped for.
Deliberate scope
The practice is focused on defined areas. Matters outside that scope are declined at intake, with a referral to qualified counsel when possible.
Written engagements
Every representation begins with a written engagement letter specifying scope, fee structure, and retainer. No surprises, no informal understandings.
Prepared advocacy
When a matter requires litigation, I prepare accordingly — thoroughly, methodically, and without overstatement. Credibility is built in preparation.
Consider this practice for your matter.
